Keel is built on a simple principle: your data is yours. We collect only what we need to run your AI assistant, we protect it with strong encryption, and we never sell it. This policy explains exactly what we do and do not do with your information.

What We Collect
When you use Keel, we collect the information you provide during sign-up (your name and email address), the data from services you choose to connect (like your email inbox and calendar), and basic usage information about how you interact with the platform.
How We Use It
We use your information to provide and improve the Keel service. This means powering your AI assistant, sending you notifications, processing payments, and making the product better over time. We may use anonymised, aggregated data to understand usage patterns, but this data can never be traced back to you.
What We Never Do
- We never sell your personal information
- We never share your data with advertisers
- We never let third parties access your emails or calendar events
- We never use your conversations or email content to train AI models
AI Decision-Making
Plain English: Your Keel uses AI to read your emails and calendar so it can help you. It suggests actions and waits for your approval before doing anything important. You are always in control.
Formal disclosure (APP 1.7/1.8): Keel uses artificial intelligence to process connected service data (email and calendar content) to generate summaries, draft responses, and suggest actions. Users maintain control over all agent actions through a configurable confirmation threshold. No fully automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects are made without human review and approval.
Cross-Border Data Disclosure
Your data is stored on servers in the European Union (Hetzner, based in Germany and Finland). AI processing is performed by Anthropic, based in the United States. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, your data is automatically deleted after 7 days and is never used for AI training.
Data Storage and Retention
All sensitive data is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption at the application level. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your data for 30 days in case you change your mind. After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted.
Your Rights
Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Make a complaint about how we handle your information

Your conversations are never used to train AI
Keel uses Anthropic's Claude to power your AI assistant. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, your data is automatically deleted after 7 days and is never used to train or improve AI models. This is a contractual guarantee, not just a policy preference.

We use minimal cookies. An essential authentication cookie keeps you signed in. If you consent, we also use a single analytics cookie to understand how people use Keel so we can improve it. You can control analytics cookies through our cookie consent banner. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
